USA and Canada ALL OVER

So why is an Australian writing about the USA and Canada? Well, for a start, my wife and I like America. Each time we come to America we come with a fresh set of eyes. Think of it as a sort of Bill Bryson, the USA travel author, in reverse.
Like Australia, the USA and Canada is a lot to get ones head around. But there a great contrasts too. One of those is the trees. We love the forests of sequoia, beech and fir. They contrast perfectly with our gum trees. Our koala bears live in trees whereas American bears wander the forests. We don’t have any bison but you don’t have any buffalo. I guess you get the point; there is enjoyment in experiencing the uniqueness as well as the similarity.
Much of the best of America is unique. Who doesn’t get a buzz electric energy of Times Square at night, luxuriating in the "chateaux" hotels of Canada, hiking the Rockies and exploring Nova Scotia? Who doesn’t get a buzz out of the "fall" in Vermont and the dramatic coastline of Maine? Who doesn’t want to blow their horn in New Orleans? Is the anywhere on earth where one can gaze at natures dramatic creations as in the Grand Canyon and in Yellowstone, and not be amazed.
Well we’ve done all of that and loved every moment of it. Our friends said, "Hey, why don’t you write about your experiences". Well, we have. This is a collection of them. They are not guide books. They are simply our stories written for people that love to travel.
