Advanced Chemical and Creep Modeling for Alkali-Aggregate Reaction in Concrete (PDF)

Free Download Advanced Chemical and Creep Modeling for Alkali-Aggregate Reaction in Concrete by Fernando A. N. Silva , Rodrigo F. Roma , Mohamed K. Bourbatache , Mahfoud Tahlaiti , João M. P. Q. Delgado , António C. Azevedo
English | PDF (True) | 2024 | 91 Pages | ISBN : 3031539796 | 3.3 MB
This book presents the numerical results of the use of the chemical model to analyse the advancement of the reaction and the mechanical model to simulate creep and shrinkage phenomena in COMSOL Multiphysics®, as a way to reassess concrete structures suffering from those mechanisms. Both models were implemented separately to evaluate their responses and compare them with the theoretical results and experimental benchmarks presented in the literature. The numerical simulation results showed excellent agreement with the experimental results data, with maximum disagreement not exceeding 10%, indicating that the implementation of the developed numerical models behaved very efficiently.

Basic Modeling and Theory of Creep of Metallic Materials

Free Download Basic Modeling and Theory of Creep of Metallic Materials

This open access book features an in-depth exploration of the intricate creep behavior exhibited by metallic materials, with a specific focus on elucidating the underlying mechanical properties governing their response at elevated temperatures, particularly in the context of polycrystalline alloys. Traditional approaches to characterizing mechanical properties have historically relied upon empirical models replete with numerous adjustable parameters, painstakingly tuned to match experimental data. While these methods offer practical simplicity, they often yield outcomes that defy meaningful extrapolation and application to novel systems, invariably necessitating the recalibration of parameters afresh.

Static Creep Micro-Macro Fracture Mechanics of Brittle Solids

Free Download Static Creep Micro-Macro Fracture Mechanics of Brittle Solids
English | 2024 | ISBN: 9819982022 | 381 Pages | PDF EPUB (True) | 67 MB
This book gathers a large amount of recent research results on this topic to better understand the static creep micro-macro fracture mechanics in brittle solids (e.g., glass, ceramic, concrete, ice, and rock). To be precise, this is about to explore the effects of the external factors of stress paths, water content, seepage pressure, dynamic disturbance, thermal treated temperature, and the internal factors of crack angle, size, recovery, and nucleation coalescence on the static creep fracture mechanical properties in brittle solids. This book provides important theoretical support in evaluation for long-term lifetime in the brittle solid engineering (e.g., deep underground engineering, architecture engineering, aerospace engineering, and mechanical manufacturing engineering).

Author: Myriam Gurba
Narrator: Myriam Gurba

A ruthless and razor-sharp essay collection that tackles the pervasive, creeping oppression and toxicity that has wormed its way into society-in our books, schools, and homes, as well as the systems that perpetuate them-from the acclaimed author and one of our fiercest, foremost explorers of intersectional Latinx identity. A creep can be a singular figure, a villain who makes things go bump in the night. Yet creep is also what the fog does-it lurks into place to do its dirty work, muffling screams, obscuring the truth, and providing cover for those prowling within it. Creep is Myriam Gurba’s informal sociology of creeps, a deep dive into the dark recesses of the toxic traditions that plague the United States and create the abusers who haunt our books, schools, and homes.
