Advances in the Study of Gas Hydrates

English | 2004 | pages: 251 | ISBN: 1441934510, 0306484811 | PDF | 16,1 mb
This book had its genesis in a symposium on gas hydrates presented at the 2003 Spring National Meeting of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. The symposium consisted of twenty papers presented in four sessions over two days. Additional guest authors were invited to provide continuity and cover topics not addressed during the symposium. Gas hydrates are a unique class of chemical compounds where molecules of one compound (the guest material) are enclosed, without bonding chemically, within an open solid lattice composed of another compound (the host material). These types of configurations are known as clathrates. The guest molecules, u- ally gases, are of an appropriate size such that they fit within the cage formed by the host material. Commonexamples of gas hydrates are carbon dioxide/water and methane/water clathrates. At standard pressure and temperature, methane hydrate contains by volume 180 times as much methane as hydrate. The United States Geological Survey (USGS) has estimated that there is more organic carbon c- tained as methane hydrate than all other forms of fossil fuels combined. In fact, methane hydrates could provide a clean source of energy for several centuries. Clathrate compounds were first discovered in the early 1800s when Humphrey Davy and Michael Faraday were experimenting with chlorine-water mixtures.

English | 2007 | ISBN: 1932633219 | PDF | pages: 809 | 6.5 mb
Since it is impossible to identify some terpenes by mass spectrum only, the Adams library with retention times and Kovat’s indices is the only terpene library that one can use to identify more than 95% of the components in common essentials oils with certainty. A comprehensive collection of mass spectra and retention times of common components in plant essential oils, this reference covers 2,205 compounds, each including:

Ultradeep Carbonate Gas Reservoirs Reservoir Characteristics and Percolation Mechanism (2024)

Free Download Ultradeep Carbonate Gas Reservoirs: Reservoir Characteristics and Percolation Mechanism by Lu Wang
English | EPUB (True) | 2023 | 335 Pages | ISBN : 9811997071 | 113.1 MB
This book provides a systematical investigation on the reservoir characteristics and percolation mechanism of ultradeep carbonate gas reservoirs, including reservoir characteristics and classification, gas storage and percolation capacities, gas-phase and gas-water two-phase percolation mechanism, microscale complex gas-water relationship, reservoir sensitivity characteristics, and gas production characteristics of heterogeneous carbonate reservoirs. Some advanced and improved experimental techniques and analytical methods are introduced and applied, including comprehensive evaluation technique of storage and percolation capacities, ultra-high temperature and pressure physical simulation experiment technique, microscopic visualization technique based on CT scanning and microelectronics lithography, and physical simulation technique for heterogeneous reservoir development. In addition, it summarizes strategies for the efficient development of ultradeep carbonate gas reservoirs based on these theoretical research results. The key techniques and methods introduced in this monograph satisfy the need for efficient development of ultradeep carbonate gas reservoirs and provide theoretical basis and methodological value for investigations on similar gas reservoirs. This book serves as a reference for engineering technical professionals, researchers, and graduate students who are engaged in the exploration and development of carbonate gas reservoirs.

Gas Masks for Goal Posts Football in Britain during the Second World War

Free Download Sir Tom Finney, "Gas Masks for Goal Posts: Football in Britain during the Second World War"
English | 2007 | ISBN: 075094031X, 0750940301 | EPUB | pages: 288 | 0.4 mb
"I was 12th man for England against Wales at Wembley. Within a few minutes, the Welsh half-back broke his collar bone. They had no reserves and I as the only spare player to hand. That’s how I made my international debut – for Wales." – Stan Mortensen, Blackpool and England. When Britain declared war on Germany in September 1939, football came to an abrupt halt. Large crowds were banned, stadiums were given over to military use, most players joined up. Then it was realised that if victory was the national goal, soccer could help – and football went to war. For the next six years the game became hugely important to Britain. Boosting morale among servicemen, munitions workers and beleaguered citizens alike – and raising hundreds of thousands of pounds for war funds. It was a game with plenty of human stories. Some footballers were dubbed ‘PT commandos’ or ‘D-Day dodgers’. Others, however, saw action. Pre-war heroes on the pitch became wartime heroes off it. This book captures the atmosphere of the time and tells the story of a unique period in football’s history.

Gas Measurement Technology in Theory and Practice Measuring Instruments, Sensors, Applications

Free Download Gas Measurement Technology in Theory and Practice: Measuring Instruments, Sensors, Applications by Gerhard Wiegleb
English | EPUB (True) | 2023 | 1303 Pages | ISBN : 3658372311 | 266.5 MB
The book describes the physical properties of gases and describes the different measuring methods and sensor principles for the analysis of gas mixtures. The use of gas sensors in different applications is shown by means of practical examples. These applications of the metrological detection of gases originate from many fields of engineering, in particular energy technology, food technology, process engineering, biotechnology, safety engineering, medical technology and environmental technology.
