Cross-Talk Noise Immune VLSI Design Using Regular Layout Fabrics

Free Download Cross-Talk Noise Immune VLSI Design Using Regular Layout Fabrics by Sunil P. Khatri , Robert K. Brayton , Alberto L. Sangiovanni-Vincentelli
English | PDF | 2001 | 123 Pages | ISBN : 079237407X | 11.4 MB
This book was motivated by the problems being faced with shrinking IC process feature sizes. It is well known that as process feature sizes shrink, a host of electrical problems like cross-talk, electromigration, self-heat, etc. are becoming important. Cross-talk is one of the major problems since it results in unpredictable design behavior. In particular, it can result in significant delay variation or signal integrity problems in a wire, depending on the state of its neighboring wires. Typical approaches to tackle the cross-talk problem attempt to fix the problem once it is created. In our approach, we ensure that cross-talk is eliminated by design. The work described in this book attempts to take an "outside-the-box" view and propose a radically different design style. This design style first imposes a fixed layout pattern (or fabric) on the integrated circuit, and then embeds the circuit being implemented into this fabric. The fabric is chosen carefully in order to eliminate the cross-talk problem being faced in modem IC processes. With our choice of fabric, cross-talk between adjacent wires on an IC is reduced by between one and two orders of magnitude. In this way, the fabric concept eliminates cross-talk up-front, and by design. We propose two separate design flows, each of which uses the fabric concept to implement logic. The first flow uses fabric-compliant standard cells as an im plementation vehicle. We call these cells fabric cells, and they have the same logic functionality as existing standard cells with which they are compared.

"This book examines the issue of immunity with the signaling pathways it is associated with, which has come to the fore again with the COVID-19 pandemic. Our book provides an opportunity to have an overview of the signaling pathways involved in the function of cells in the immune system with the latest developments and recent studies on the subject to the reader"-

Immune Ethics

Free Download Walter Glannon, "Immune Ethics "
English | ISBN: 1009304593 | 2023 | 75 pages | PDF | 4 MB
The immune system maintains homeostasis within human organisms and protects them from pathogenic threats. But sometimes it cannot provide this protection on its own, and vaccines may be necessary to ensure our health and survival. Immune functions can become dysregulated and result in autoimmune disease or multi-system damage. Pharmacological and genomic interventions may activate or modulate immune functions to prevent these outcomes. This Element is an analysis and discussion of some of the ethical implications of these interventions. After describing the main components of innate and adaptive immunity and how it might be enhanced, it considers the potential benefit and harm from vaccines against addiction and viruses, immunotherapy for cancer, neuroimmunomodulating agents to prevent or treat neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative diseases, and gene editing of immunity to enable xenotransplantation and prevent infectious disease. The Element concludes with an exploration of a possible outcome of natural competition between humans and microbes.

English | ISBN: 1472915119 | 2017 | 304 pages | PDF | 16 MB
The human body is like an exceedingly well-fortified castle, defended by billions of soldiers-some live for less than a day, others remember battles for decades, but all are essential in protecting us from disease. This hidden army is our immune system, and without it we could not survive the eternal war between us and our microscopic enemies.

Vulnerability and the Corporate Immune System

Free Download Vulnerability and the Corporate Immune System: An Integrated and Systemic Approach to Risk Management
English | 2023 | ISBN: 3031302532 | 323 Pages | PDF EPUB (True) | 9 MB
Companies are exposed to a large number of risks from different sources such as globalization, deregulation, environmental changes, technological changes, complicated financial models, and corporate governance changes. Parallel to this, various studies recognize enterprise risk management (ERM) as a new method of organizational control. With the spread of ERM frameworks, this book links the themes of risk to decision-making and strategic processes, moving from the issue of vulnerability in order to increase awareness that risk management cannot be entrusted to fulfillment. Instead, risk management must increasingly be an integral part of the company’s decision-making and strategic processes.
