Foundations of Elastoplasticity Subloading Surface Model (4th Edition)

Free Download Foundations of Elastoplasticity: Subloading Surface Model
English | 2023 | ISBN: 3030931374 | 812 Pages | PDF EPUB (True) | 155 MB
This book is the standard text book for elastoplasticity/viscoplasticity which is explained comprehensively covering the rate-independent to -dependent finite deformations of metals, soils, polymers, crystal plasticity, etc. and the friction phenomenon. Concise explanations on vector-tensor analysis and continuum mechanics are provided first, covering the underlying physical concepts, e.g. various time-derivatives, pull-back and push-forward operations, work-conjugacy and multiplicative decomposition of deformation gradient tensor. Then, the rigorous elastoplastic/viscoplastic model, called the subloading surface model, is explained comprehensively, which is based on the subloading surface concept to describe the continuous development of the plastic/viscoplastic strain rate as the stress approaches to the yield surface, while it can never be described by the other plasticity models, e.g. the Chaboche-Ohno and the Dafalias-Yoshida models assuming the purely-elastic domain. The main features of the subloading surface model are as follows:

Emergence of In Vitro 3D Systems to Model Human Malaria

Free Download Emergence of In Vitro 3D Systems to Model Human Malaria
English | 2023 | ISBN: 9819906903 | 99 Pages | PDF (True) | 3 MB
This book illustrates the importance and advances of the disease model for malaria, a globally affected public health problem. This book provides comprehensive information on the malaria biology in a liver and all in vitro platforms for liver-stage malaria, including principles, protocols, applications for disease modeling and drug screening, and their limitations. The initial chapter describes the basis of stem cells in liver generation during development and in adults. The subsequent chapters highlight recent and emerging advances in liver organoid and liver-on-a-chip in modeling malaria. The book presents current protocols and methods to generate liver organoid and liver-on-a-chip together with their advantages and limitations. Toward the end, the book examines the humanized mouse model of liver-stage malaria using ectopic artificial livers regarding novel readout modalities. The recent advancement and challenges in combining liver-on-a-chip technology with biosensors are highlighted for assessing hepatocyte development viability and functions. The book elucidates the potential of these 3D models to understand the biological complexity of cellular and molecular mechanisms involved in Plasmodium development in the liver, toolboxes to investigate parasite deployment in the 3D models, and to implement in drug discovery. Finally, the book discusses the future directions and challenges in the applications of liver organoids and liver on-chip in the biology of live-stage malaria. This book is helpful for researchers and scientists in the field of parasitology, cell biology, tissue engineering, and pharmacology.

Digital Watermarking for Machine Learning Model

Free Download Digital Watermarking for Machine Learning Model: Techniques, Protocols and Applications
English | 2023 | ISBN: 9811975531 | 233 Pages | PDF (True) | 7 MB
Machine learning (ML) models, especially large pretrained deep learning (DL) models, are of high economic value and must be properly protected with regard to intellectual property rights (IPR). Model watermarking methods are proposed to embed watermarks into the target model, so that, in the event it is stolen, the model’s owner can extract the pre-defined watermarks to assert ownership. Model watermarking methods adopt frequently used techniques like backdoor training, multi-task learning, decision boundary analysis etc. to generate secret conditions that constitute model watermarks or fingerprints only known to model owners. These methods have little or no effect on model performance, which makes them applicable to a wide variety of contexts. In terms of robustness, embedded watermarks must be robustly detectable against varying adversarial attacks that attempt to remove the watermarks. The efficacy of model watermarking methods is showcased in diverse applications including image classification, image generation, image captions, natural language processing and reinforcement learning.
