John Goldingay writes on Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, and Haggai; Pamela Scalise takes on the longest, Zechariah, and the last, Malachi.

Stories of the Prophets Prophet Joseph

Free Download Ibn Kathir, "Stories of the Prophets: Prophet Joseph"
English | 2017 | pages: 300 | ISBN: 1546623183, 1643543938 | PDF | 2,2 mb
In this book, the stories of the prophets are presented. Allah, the Creator of all things, made the mountains and the seas. He made all the animals. He made the heavens and the stars. He made the sun and the moon and He made the angels. Then Allah decided to make a man. He called this first man Adam. He taught him many things so that Adam had more knowledge than the angels. There was one Jinn, called Iblis, the Devil. Iblis tried to compare himself to Adam. He believed that he was more honorable than Adam. Therefore he abstained from prostrating even though Allah had commanded him to do so. Adam was surprised by this creature, Iblis who abhorred him without even knowing him and who imagined himself better than Adam without having proved that he was worthier. Allah gives His commissioned creatures’ absolute freedom even to the extent that they can refuse His commands. Allah grants them the freedom of denial, disobedience, and even disagreement with Him. His kingdom will not diminish if the disbelievers do not believe in Him nor will it be extended if many people believe in Him.

English | ISBN: 9781594175251 | 2024 | 4 hours and 41 minutes | M4B@128 kbps | 261 MB
Author: Alexandre Havard
Narrator: Leon Griesbach

Three of the seven "prophets" presented in this book-Descartes,Rousseau, and Nietzsche-provoked or facilitated, through their intellectual activity, great upheavals. The others-Pascal, Kierkegaard, Dostoevsky, and Soloviev- predicted these very upheavals but showed us the way to overcome them. If we study all seven of these philosophers in depth, we will have an easier time grasping the essence and origin of the universal drama now unfolding before our eyes and we will make wise and courageous choices for a better future. Alex Havard walks us through the hills and valleys of recent history: the philosophical pitfalls embraced by the world, and the transcendent values and virtues that will help us overcome them. This book is our way forward, as a collective community-a way to understand where the intellectual confusion began, so that we may find our way out of it.

English | 2019 | pages: 272 | ISBN: 1783595078 | EPUB | 1,3 mb
The Old Testament, particularly the Former Prophets, has frequently been regarded as having a negative attitude towards foreigners. This has meant that these texts are often employed by those opposed to the Christian faith to attack the Bible; and such views can be echoed by Christians. While the story of David and Goliath is cherished, other episodes are seen to involve ‘ethnic cleansing’ or ‘massacre’ and are avoided.
