Structural Vector Autoregressive Analysis

2017 | 754 Pages | ISBN: 1316647331 | PDF | 32 MB
Structural vector autoregressive (VAR) models are important tools for empirical work in macroeconomics, finance, and related fields. This book not only reviews the many alternative structural VAR approaches discussed in the literature, but also highlights their pros and cons in practice. It provides guidance to empirical researchers as to the most appropriate modeling choices, methods of estimating, and evaluating structural VAR models. The book traces the evolution of the structural VAR methodology and contrasts it with other common methodologies, including dynamic stochastic general equilibrium (DSGE) models. It is intended as a bridge between the often quite technical econometric literature on structural VAR modeling and the needs of empirical researchers. The focus is not on providing the most rigorous theoretical arguments, but on enhancing the reader’s understanding of the methods in question and their assumptions. Empirical examples are provided for illustration.

Family Configurations A Structural Approach to Family Diversity

Free Download Eric D. Widmer, "Family Configurations: A Structural Approach to Family Diversity"
English | ISBN: 075467679X | 2010 | 178 pages | PDF | 4 MB
Family Configurations develops current scholarship on families and intimate lives by demonstrating that family relationships, far from being fluid and inconsequential, are more structured and committed than ever. Based on a series of empirical studies carried out in the US and Europe, this volume reveals the diversity of family relationships that emerge as a result of various key family issues, emphasizing the supportive and disruptive interdependencies existing among large sets of family members beyond the nuclear family. By applying social network methods to uncover the relational patterns of contemporary families, and making use of rich empirical data, this book draws on recent developments in family sociology, social network analysis and kinship studies to present a fascinating interdisciplinary approach to the family.

Algebraic Topology A Structural Introduction

Free Download Algebraic Topology: A Structural Introduction by Marco Grandis
English | December 29, 2021 | ISBN: 9811248354 | 372 pages | MOBI | 37 Mb
Algebraic Topology is a system and strategy of partial translations, aiming to reduce difficult topological problems to algebraic facts that can be more easily solved. The main subject of this book is singular homology, the simplest of these translations. Studying this theory and its applications, we also investigate its underlying structural layout – the topics of Homological Algebra, Homotopy Theory and Category Theory which occur in its foundation. This book is an introduction to a complex domain, with references to its advanced parts and ramifications. It is written with a moderate amount of prerequisites – basic general topology and little else – and a moderate progression starting from a very elementary beginning. A consistent part of the exposition is organised in the form of exercises, with suitable hints and solutions. It can be used as a textbook for a semester course or self-study, and a guidebook for further study.
