This textbook has been primarily written for undergraduate and postgraduate engineering students studying the mechanics of solids and structural systems. The content focuses on matrix, finite elements, structural analysis, and computer implementation in a unified and integrated manner. Using classical methods of structural analysis, it discusses matrix and the finite element methods in an easy-to-understand manner. It consists of a large number of diagrams and illustrations for easy understanding of the concepts. All the computer codes are presented in "FORTRAN" AND "C". This textbook is highly useful for the undergraduate and postgraduate engineering students. It also acquaints the practicing engineers about the computer-based techniques used in structural analysis.

Data Structures in Java

Free Download Data Structures in Java by Oswald Campesato
English | May 1, 2023 | ISBN: 1683929551 | 232 pages | MOBI | 0.96 Mb
This book is a fast-paced introduction to using data structures with Java. Numerous code samples and listings are included to support myriad topics. The first chapter contains a quick introduction to Java, along with Java code samples to check for leap years, find divisors of a number, and work with arrays of strings. The second chapter introduces recursion and usescode samples to check if a positive number is prime, to find the prime divisors of a positive integer, to calculate the GCD (greatest common divisor) and LCM (lowest common multiple) of a pair of positive integers. The third chapter contains Java code samples involving strings and arrays, such as finding binary substrings of a number, checking if strings contain unique characters, counting bits in a range of numbers, and how to compute XOR without using the XOR function. Chapters 4 through 6 include Java code samples involving search algorithms, concepts in linked lists, and tasks involving linked lists. Finally, Chapter 7 discusses data structures called queues and stacks, along with additional Java code samples.

Practical Design of Timber Structures to Eurocode 5 (2024)

Free Download H.J. Larsen, V. Enjily, "Practical Design of Timber Structures to Eurocode 5"
English | 2009 | ISBN: 0727736094 | PDF | pages: 272 | 15.0 mb
Practical Design of Timber Structures to Eurocode 5 begins with a description of timber, considering its strength, stiffness, moisture behaviour, rheology and durability, before going on to describe the production and relevant properties of materials used for timber structures. Readers will learn the theory behind the design of structural elements, such as beams, columns and walls, as well as how to ensure these structures conform to engineering design rules.

Sustainable Structures and Buildings

Free Download Sustainable Structures and Buildings by Alireza Bahrami
English | PDF EPUB (True) | 2024 | 122 Pages | ISBN : 303146687X | 25.9 MB
This book includes detail on various structures, buildings, and building materials from different structural and sustainability perspectives. It describes how the building industry is vital for the achievement of the sustainable development goals, namely, economic growth, social progress, and the effective protection of the environment. The aim of this collection is to foster the design and construction of sustainable structures and buildings to reduce the environmental load, connect with the environment, and benefit the health of occupants. Presenting the knowledge, trends, and developments from a group of contributors in the field working with different kinds of structures, structural components, buildings, and building materials, the book is ideal for practitioners working in commercial settings, as well as engineering students and researchers concerned with sustainability issues.

Algebraic Structures and Operator Calculus Volume II Special Functions and Computer Science

Free Download Algebraic Structures and Operator Calculus Volume II: Special Functions and Computer Science by Philip Feinsilver , René Schott
English | PDF | 1994 | 151 Pages | ISBN : 079232921X | 6 MB
In this volume we will present some applications of special functions in computer science. This largely consists of adaptations of articles that have appeared in the literature . Here they are presented in a format made accessible for the non-expert by providing some context. The material on group representations and Young tableaux is introductory in nature. However, the algebraic approach of Chapter 2 is original to the authors and has not appeared previously . Similarly, the material and approach based on Appell states, so formulated, is presented here for the first time . As in all volumes of this series, this one is suitable for self-study by researchers . It is as well appropriate as a text for a course or advanced seminar . The solutions are tackled with the help of various analytical techniques, such as g- erating functions, and probabilistic methods/insights appear regularly . An interesting feature is that, as has been the case in classical applications to physics, special functions arise- here in complexity analysis. And, as in physics, their appearance indicates an underlying Lie structure. Our primary audience is applied mathematicians and theoretical computer scientists . We are quite sure that pure mathematicians will find this volume interesting and useful as well .

Structures of Language Notes Towards a Systematic Investigation

Free Download Joan Casser, "Structures of Language: Notes Towards a Systematic Investigation "
English | ISBN: 9004520775 | 2022 | 302 pages | PDF | 3 MB
This annotated commentary delineating Michel Pêcheux’s materialist discourse theory anticipates the formation of a real social science to supersede the metaphysical meanings ‘always-already-there’ instituted by empirical ideology. Structures of Language presents Pêcheux’s consequential work in respect of Ferdinand de Saussure’s epistemological breakthrough that founded the science of linguistics: the theoretical separation of sound from meaning.

Space, Time, and Mechanics Basic Structures of a Physical Theory (2024)

Free Download D. Mayr, G. Süssmann, "Space, Time, and Mechanics: Basic Structures of a Physical Theory"
English | 1983 | ISBN: 9400979495, 9027715254 | DJVU | pages: 268 | 2.4 mb
In connection with the "Philosophy of Science" research program conducted by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft a colloquium was held in Munich from 18th to 20th May 1919. This covered basic structures of physical theories, the main emphasis being on the interrelation of space, time and mechanics. The present volume contains contributions and the results of the discussions. The papers are given here in the same order of presentation as at the meeting. The development of these "basic structures of physical theories" involved diverging trends arising from different starting points in philosophy and physics. In order to obtain a clear comparison between these schools of thought, it was appropriate to concentrate discussion on geometry and chronology as the common foundation of classical and quantum mechanics. As a rather simple and "Tell prepared field of study, geochronometry seemed suited to analysing these mutually exclusive positions. vii D. Mayr and G.
