Words like Thunder: New and Used Anishinaabe Prayers is a collection of poetry by award-winning Ojibwe author Lois Beardslee. We live in strange times. Most of us hate our jobs, our parents are sending us friend requests on Facebook, and Memes are the only form of entertainment that truly make us happy. Life sucks; get used to it is India’s first Anti-Self-Help book! While regular self-help books want to look into your eyes, hold your hand and tell you that the universe is waiting to reward you in beautiful ways, Life sucks; get used to it is more like a spank on the bottom that encourages you to accept the harsh realities of life, with some tough love, of course. This BS-free and no-nonsense handbook provides you with actionable tools you can use to bring about a change in your life. Somewhere among the brutal truths, life lessons, humorous puns, profound sarcasm and profanity-laden thoughts, you might just end up finding the answer to living your best life and making your place in this big, bad world.

I Used to Have Cancer How I Found My Own Way Back to Health

Free Download I Used to Have Cancer: How I Found My Own Way Back to Health by James Templeton, Dwight L. McKee MD
English | April 22, 2019 | ISBN: 0757004784 | 192 pages | PDF | 2.40 Mb
By all standards of success, James Templeton seemed to have it all. He was a highly successful businessman, had a beautiful wife and daughter, and, only in his early thirties, had his whole life in front of him. To avoid the same fate as his father and grandfather, who both died of heart attacks at a young age, James became an avid runner―a passion that he believed helped him stay fit and healthy. Imagine his shock when, during a routine physical, his doctor noticed a mole on his body that turned out to be a melanoma―a dangerous form of skin cancer. The mole was removed immediately and James, who was diligent in his follow-up exams, appeared to be cancer-free―but only for a short while. When the cancer reappeared and had spread, on the advice of his doctor, James followed the conventional medical protocol, which included surgery and chemotherapy. He was also involved in a clinical trial. When he learned that the treatments weren’t working, James was obviously devastated. He had reached a new low point in his life, and as he lay in the hospital bed, he prayed fervently for help. As if by some miracle, help came to James in the form of three different visitors who would change the course of his life―and help direct him on a path back to health.

Rarely Used Structures and Lesser-Studied Languages Insights from the Margins

Free Download Emily Manetta, "Rarely Used Structures and Lesser-Studied Languages: Insights from the Margins "
English | ISBN: 0367236303 | 2019 | 160 pages | EPUB, PDF | 14 MB + 5 MB
This book investigates a set of marginal syntactic structures which have been singularly influential in the development of generative theory, spotlighting lesser-studied languages of the Indic family while emphasizing implications for linguistic theory more broadly. After first defining what constitutes a marginal syntactic structure, this book then undertakes a micro-comparative approach to the rigorous exploration of fundamental properties of human language, including displacement, ellipsis, unbounded dependencies, and the role of clausal peripheries in such languages as Kashmiri and Romani. In so doing, Manetta interrogates and ultimately affirms the relevance of marked and marginal strings which have proven to be crucial to generative syntax while simultaneously advocating for the role of lesser-studied languages to the study of such properties. This book is key reading for graduate students and researchers in linguistics and syntax more specifically, as well as those interested in the study of Indic languages.
