Description
Measuring moisture has a number of useful applications. One of these applications is measuring moisture that we release through our skin, called perspiration. Consequently, during our sleep we lose a lot of moisture, called night sweats. The process of perspiration is a useful tool that the body uses to cool itself when it overheats. The moment of perspiration is not always welcome, such as when we wake up bathed in sweat. Thus, we basically already know that sometimes we sweat and sometimes we don’t, right? But how can we go about capturing this. This course contains the complete "how to" to create your own unique Q-Strip (sweat sensor), then log data with it and then test it on the bed to then read out with the specially written windows completely free software or or just Excel. You will be amazed at the observations that can be made when we get sick for example but also when the weather suddenly becomes very hot. Nutrition, medications and hormones can also have an effect on sweat behavior during sleep. In short, measuring night sweat can be enormously useful! What will you do in this course: Build your Arduino Uno Data SD sweat logger.Make a Q-Strip sweat sensor with home remedies.Run your first test to start measuring during sleep.Read your "Sweat Rate" data and gain insight into how we sweat during our sleep. Once your logger is tested start reading the data and unraveling fundamental situations by doing small tests in a first introduction to this new sensor. How to start an investigation and what challenges but also possible discoveries you will encounter. The lifespan of an average sensor is 6 months, but this is of course entirely how you put it together!\Technical An Arduino Uno board is programmed with a standard humidity sensor. Any beginner can use and modify the simple code and upload it to the Uno board. Should you already have another model, the housing will have to be made yourself. The socket and connector are recommended on your own hardware though. We only use the analog port A0 in the examples. For the socket and connector there are 3D models (*.STL files) available for download to be able to use and make a complete device for the rest of your life !If you do not have a 3D printer, the individual enclosures can also be ordered from the website. Of course, you can also have your 3D housing printed by someone nearby with a 3D printer or make something yourself from wood, for example. Carbon wire you can buy on the internet. Like the Arduino Hardware, everything can be made and or ordered yourself. The duration of this course is for making the measurement device about 2 ~ 4 hours. After that you can really start to see how your sweatrate varies over several days or even weeks. Why was this course released:This course is a certified Dutch NLT module for HAVO & VWO 5+ level since 2023.This phenotypic digital biomarker has previously achieved a Quality Indentifier score of 3.98 / 5.00 in a peer reviewed Pubmed "Real World Data" article.More than 100 people have tested this technology during development with very positive results. The inventor is publishing this knowledge for good to promote quality of life for all people in the world. The possibilities are too vast to contain, therefore this information has been shared under "open source" conditions for educational purposes. This course is a 100% unique class with experience.Measuring sweat is a very valuable science and anyone can be a researcher!
