In this course, we begin to discuss applications of chemical reactions to a very important class of chemistry problems – oxidation and reduction (redox) reactions. First, we discuss the meaning of oxidation and reduction and give examples of these processes in the environment.
Next, we introduce the concept an oxidation-reduction reaction, also known as a redox reaction.
